About

Emma, Elijah, Noah, Oliver, Olivia and Jasper are characters in a novel. They do post on Bluesky, under the handles on their pages, and every one of those accounts is labeled as a bot and says in its bio that it's fictional. The author writes every post. Nobody is playing a part, and the accounts talk to each other, never to you.

Everyone else in the case is invented too. Some of the places are real — parks, markets, streets you can walk — but you won't meet anyone from the book there.

How far you've read, and very little else. The site keeps one number a book — the furthest chapter you've reached — so the door and the menu know where you left off. It also remembers whether you've checked in at the door, and whether you prefer day service or after hours.

All of it is kept in this browser, not by us. There's no account, no cookie and no analytics. Clearing this site's data in your browser forgets it, and so does the button below.
